I am Phale (Fa-Le) or Cassady, from a small town in Maryland. My Gemini traits has brought me all over the world and now I'm a part time Houstonian with a Maryland number and a home in Oklahoma.

 

I graduated from the University of MD and accidentally became a TV host when I moved to Houston in 2010. At the time I didn't know public speaking was my hidden talent but I'm great at interacting with the crowd and even better at switching between Vietnamese and English. Five years working for various Vietnamese TV stations and I became a familiar face of the community. I can produce and edit shows and plan large entertainment events.

You're probably reading this and thinking... she had it made, here's a successful Asian girl with an easy life. Similar to other immigrant families, my upbringing consisted of being laughed at because I had a weird name and wearing donated clothes that gave me rashes. All of that motivated me to do well in school and in life, but it did not prepare me for the lesson I learned in 2022.

At the age of 35 I discovered a lump by my armpit and eight months later the doctor concluded that it's positive for breast cancer. Cancer didn't hurt me physically but mentally I felt defeated. Along with the never ending side effects of chemo, 2022 was a rough year. I had events already booked and actually worked through them all. I was fatigued from treatment but being around the audience gave me energy. I shared my story on social media hoping to help others and through that I discovered a different, better version of myself.

A more positive, appreciative self, guided by my strong faith and the realization that...

"You are stronger than you think."
